Rejuvinate, energize and relax in this 9 day retreat. Start each day with an invigorating Pilates class in an ancient setting. The classes are designed to challenge you and are for all levels of experience. If you are new to Pilates, this is an opportunity to deepen your practice and strengthen your body. The classes are taught by Jenn and a special guest teacher. After class, you will then have breakfast, Italian-style prepared by Chef Alessandra. You have the day to do exactly what your heart desires. Or, we have some planned activities such as hikes, cooking classes, or exploring scenic towns of the area. You can also just relax in at the villa, have lunch on the terrace, or take a dip in the pool. Late afternoon there will be a second Pilates or Yoga class offered, such as a myofacial stretch class or a restoration class. Evenings you will be served a 3-4-course meal Italian-style, complete with wine pairings!
More than 20 years ago I began practicing Pilates to correct postural issues and neck and shoulder pain. I was truly inspired and amazed by the changes that Pilates made to my physical and mental well-being.
After retirement from a career in technology and the fashion industry in 2019 at the age of 62, I studied Pilates, becoming an internationally accredited Pilates trainer achieving my Nationally Certified Pilates Trainer (NCPT) and Buff Bones accreditation. I currently teach at Bellevue Club, Vitality Pilates, as well as in my own studio. Additionally, I am a certified Yoga teacher and level three Reiki Master.
My Philosophy is simple: Be Strong and Love It! Life is full of adventures and challenges and I want to step up to embrace them. I promote a healthy and adventurous lifestyle no matter one’s age or fitness level. Nothing brings me greater joy than to see people become stronger so that they can live a healthier life.
I have found that Pilates is a transformative practice and I want to inspire others to keep their bodies and mind moving. Physical activity and adventure have always been paramount in my life. I have traveled to 6 continents and more than 80 countries. Along with teaching Pilates, I work with Village Volunteers as a member of their board of directors.
We are very lucky to have Melanie Blair co-teaching at our Retreat in Umbria.
Melanie has been teaching Pilates for over a decade. She has a dedication to the community of pilates she is a part of, especially having seen the beacon it has provided through so much change in the world.
She enjoys the crafting of a class that provides balance and strength to the body, and promotes confidence. She loves the process of transformation in working with clients first introduced to Pilates and seeing them thrive over time, with the quality of life improvements the practice provides.
Beyond pilates, Melanie has enjoyed a long standing career as a photographer, and lives in the community of Mt Baker in Seattle
